My contract with transport relief was never fulfilled but I was charged anyway. I made a contract to have my truck shipped fro Michigan to Florida. I accepted a bid of $200 for the broker which was reduced to $175 because I,m retired military. Then another $600 for the truck driver. Total of $775. After talking to Troy at transport relief the driver fee was raised to $750. I was advised by Troy that no truckers would haul my truck for the agreed on price received from transport relief. I agreed to the price increase. Not realizing I was being lied to. I was told the truck would be picked up in less than two weeks. After the first week no contact from them.. Then as the second week ended I contacted them to see what progress had been made. They were "still working on it". A day later they called and told me they had a driver that could pick up the truck in two to four hours. I made arrangements for someone to be there when the transport truck arrived.? Got a callback shortly that the truck broke down in Chicago. They told me I would be called back when another truck to haul my truck was available. Which never happened. They got upset when I started emailing every day. Said they had other customers to worry about and I wasn,t their only customer. After almost a month I cancelled my contract them. As soon as I canceled they deducted $175 from my debit card. When I took out the contract I was told I wouldn't be charged a broker fee by Troy until the day the truck was picked up. Nothing was said to me over the phone about my being charged if I canceled the contract. If I can stop anyone from losing their deposit by not using transport relief I,ll feel much better about losing my $175! D0 NOT GIVE A CARD NUMBER to them or any transport company like I was dumb enough to do! I,m now looking for a company that I feel is honest. It's going to be hard for me to trust any of the brokers! My next letter is going to the Better Business Bureau and the one after that to AARP. I live in snowbird country and a very large group of them ship their vehicles south in the winter months!
