This was my first time to use this transport company I contacted Tamus inc to move a dodge diesel from san antonio TX to ponca city OK. I asked that i be contacted by the transport driver before he took reciept of the truck .This was so that he could give me a quick verbal condition report so that i knew the truck was not damaged in anyway at the auction while waiting for transport When the truck was picked up i recieved a phone call fom Tamus's transport driver. I asked some questions, he went over the truck and relayed its condition back to me. I was satisfied that the truck was in the same shape as when i purchased it.
When the Transporter showed up with the truck, right away i noticed glass all over the hood of a BMW that was on the bottom deck of his trailer I then noticed that the glass was from the back window of my truck that was right above it.
The driver for Tamus then got out of his truck and came back to explain that the glass was already broke out of the truck when he picked it up and that the tailpipe was already bent as well.
Obviously i knew he was no telling me the truth So i told him to unload my truck right now, he replied he was not going to until i paid him I told him i was NOT going to pay him nothing as he caused tons of damaged to my truck
He then called his dispatch/ owner of the company (janet mayo) and he told her that i would not pay because of the damage He said that she would offer a 200 discount because of the damage I told him that was not enough He told her, and then she said to tell me that she was not going to release the truck until i paid. Obviously there was nothing i could do , so i paid the money so that i could get my truck of his junky car hauler I then promply filed a claim with there insurance company, she said that because i took reciept of the vehicle, it released her from any damage. Well fortunetly her insurance company saw it different . she was furious that i was being compinsated for the damage her company did to my truck The insurance then paid me for the damage MINUS HER DEDUCTABLE which was $1000.00, in which i had to recieve from Tamus inc After attempting to reach Tamus many times to collect my money that was owed to me, i ask her insurance company to call Tamus in my behalf She told them, that she was not going to pay me! After hearing that, i filed a law suit against Tamus Inc and was awarded judgement for the deductable plus court costs and interest. I have not recieved one red cent from Tamus Inc as of yet. I have Filed garnishments on there bank accounts with no success My next step is to file against there assets (trucks, trailers, etc). Then the next time a Tamus Inc truck stops at a weigh station in oklahoma, it will be seized.
Eitherway, my opinion on Tamus Inc, is that they are a fly by night company, that is ran by a con / crook and have little or no experiance.
All of the above is my experiance and personal opinion of tamus inc, so use your own judgement.
