I want to start by saying that we used Montway four times and were pleased with the companies they hired to transport our cars between California and Florida. The fifth time, however, was awful, and because of it, we'll never use them again or recommend them to anyone. In short, my BMW X5 was damaged in transport, and instead of bringing the car to me with the damage, they tried to hide it. Then they wouldn't pay to have it fixed properly. When the car was delivered, I was initially pleased, thinking they had simply washed off all the dirt and grime. The next day, however, I noticed white paint on my driver's seat — the same color as the exterior of my car. I started looking the car over in more detail and discovered overspray on my grille, front passenger rim, and trim pieces, along with an overall rough feel to the bumper. It was obvious that someone had done a horrible job of "repainting" my bumper. We called Montway and filed a complaint, which led to a claim with the transporter's insurer. The insurer sent an adjuster who agreed that the bumper had been repainted. They requested I get three estimates to repair all the damage (including parking sensor issues) within 72 hours. I did that and emailed copies of each. At this point, we hadn't released payment to Montway and were told that if we did, they would assist with the complaint and claim. After releasing payment, Montway completely washed their hands of it and essentially said, "good luck." The claim was ultimately declined, and I had to cover the cost of fixing whatever had been done. We never got any answers about exactly what damage occurred and were left guessing. We were never reimbursed either, and we'll NEVER use Montway again. This is all documented in emails. Steer clear! Montway will tell you about their insurance policy that covers the cost of the vehicle – a bold-faced lie!
