I started by requesting on-line quotes and got bombarded with email bids with a $500 range difference between the cheapest and the highest. So I decided to do the calling myself to make sure I was comparing apples to apples as I had never shipped a vehicle before.
On Nov 6th, I called a few companies and was not able to get in touch with most. I was able to speak with Evergreen and they were able to answer all my questions. I felt comfortable with the phone contact and the answers. They were upfront with me about costs, pick-up and delivery times, and insurance coverage in case of damages. I went ahead and scheduled the pick up of my Jeep Grande Cherokee from Houston area to go to Williston, ND. I choose the economy method with a longer pick-up window. It was easy to book and I was given a reasonable price with a minimal ($259) downpayment upon booking and the balance due upon delivery of vehicle (756). This included a 10% fee for paying cash to the driver upon delivery rather than paying the whole thing at booking. That was fine with me as I like to hang onto my money until a job is done. I am an impatient person and started calling at the end of each day starting on the 7th, to check if the route had been picked up yet. They were always polite to me and assured me that it would be picked up in my specified window. It was picked up on the afternoon of the 9th. Well inside my pick-up window and delivered 3 days later. I was impressed with the timing on both pick-up and delivery.
While it is clear that these guys are very busy on the phones and I had short delays on occasion, it is clear that they valued my business and made time to take my call and keep me informed and happy.
The vehicle was delivered safe and sound and ahead of time, so I have no complaints about this transaction from start to finish. I feel I got a fair price and would recommend this company for your autotransport needs. I am expecting a refund of $50 for completing this review, but would have done so without any compensation as I genuinely feel I was treated well and got good service for my moneyl.
