If you just want the Cliff Notes version; I will use Capitol Auto Transport again! And I will also use CCA Transport too! Both companies were awesome to work with! Saved us money, were quick, efficient and customer service oriented!
My family and I moved, over the summer, from California to Georgia. On our drive out east we had an accident that totaled the trailer we were towing and we lost most of the contents of the trailer.
Last month my dad decided to move out here to GA to be closer to us. I flew back to CA to attend a couple of marketing events and to also help him pack. I realized that we needed to get his car out east and after the trailer accident; I wasnt too enamored by the idea of towing his car behind a 16ft Penske truck.
I emailed Andy at Capitol Auto Transport on October 5, at 1AM PDT, and received a reply to my email by lunchtime CA time. By 4pm he had a carrier lined up and the tentative pickup/delivery date as well as the cost. Andy answered all my questions in my email. He provided scanned copies of the carriers license, certificate of liability insurance and their W9.
Andy stated that CCA Transport would pick up the car on Thursday Oct 14, 2011 and that someone from their company would give us a call. Sure enough on Wednesday, Oct 13, John from CCA Transport called to verify our address, our contact number and let us know that my dads car would be picked up between 11-2PM on Thursday the 14th. He said that the driver would call us when he was an hour away. John also informed us that we could load up to 75lbs of our personal items in the trunk. This was a great way to pack up sleeping bags and comforters.
On Thursday the 14th, Tom-CCA Transport called dad to let dad know he would be there within an hour. And then he called again to let dad know he was in a bit of traffic. Tom showed up with a flat bed to load up the 2006 Accord Hybrid. He walked around and noted any dings or scratches on the car prior to loading and securing it.
Andy called me on Friday the 15th and we spoke for a good 10-15mins. He wanted to make sure I had no more questions and that the pickup had gone smoothly. I didnt and everything had gone well. It was great to have one less thing to worry about!
Dad and I began our drive from California to Georgia on Tuesday Oct 18, 2011.
At 7AM Wednesday Oct 19, as we were having breakfast in Gallup, NM, Alex-CCA Transport called to inform us that he would deliver the car on Thursday to a Wal-Mart near our GA home. He also stated that it would be difficult to get a fully loaded semi back to our house location. The road is a bit windy and narrow and turning around would be hard so I was okay with him dropping off the car at Wal-Mart as it was only 5mi away. He also asked if my wife could have the COD ready for him.
At 10AM Thursday Oct 20, while having breakfast in Yukon, OK, Alex called to let me know that he was about an hour away from delivery and if I could try to call my wife as he couldnt get a hold of her. Called my wife and told her the news. She was able to get a hold of Alex and he said he should be there by 11:30. She met Alex at Wal-Mart, right on schedule, the car was unloaded, unharmed and in the same condition as when it was picked up and a receipt was given to her.
We pulled into our driveway Friday afternoon, Oct 21, after our 2083mi trip, to see dads car sitting there waiting for us. We have friends who also moved from the same city in CA to TN, over the summer, and it cost them $1500 to ship their vehicle. It cost us around $1000 but the lack of stress was priceless!
I will use Andy and Capitol Auto Transport again without any reservation should I feel the need move cross country again or if I buy a car and need it shipped to me. I definitely recommend his company as he was quick, professional, knowledgeable and very honest. As a small business owner, my wife and I own a tutoring center in California, it is awesome to see honesty, integrity and a great sense of customer service in another business. If you need to ship a car, and you dont want the stress, give Andy a call!
I initially felt a little nervous after reading some of the negative comments about CCA Transport, but it was all for naught! The lads at CCA Transport were very communicative and spot on in their scheduling and delivery timetables. I appreciated the fact that they called to let me know the status of the car delivery. I also have no reservations in using CCA Transport in the future should the need arise!
