First up, 1 Flat-Rate is a broker, not s shipper. Mike was very helpful and realistic about wait times and shipping times based on our desired price point. He said it could take up to two weeks after our "available date" for a shipper/transporter/trucker to accept the offer and pick up our car, and then up to a week for shipping to our destination on the other side of the country. We left our car with our neighbors and assigned them as the releasing agents. We were expecting up to 14 days, and the car was picked up in 12- good! Then, our car arrived in 3 days, not a week! Actually had to return from a trip 2 days early because the transit time was too quick! Driver met us at the hotel parking lot (where we were staying); and the car didn't have any (additional) scratches on it.
Bottom line: We were promised an arrival date of up to 21 days from the "available date"- the car arrived in 15 days. Mike from 1 Flat-Rate stayed in contact with us when there was news on our shipment, and was happy to discuss when we called. Other than being a little dusty from sitting for 2 weeks, our car was just as we left it. I don't know if we'll ever need to ship a car again; but if you are, consider these guys to arrange your move.
