We solicited numerous bids from different auto shipping companies to provide service from the Kansas City area to Albuquerque. We came upon TransportReviews.com while trying to decide on which carrier to use. After finding poorer reviews from these companies, we researched different companies on this website and settled on Wheeler Shipping.

Most of the bids to ship our 2002 Subaru Outback Wagon ranged from $600-700, with a few in the $800 range. Wheeler Shipping was the lowest at $600, and with the stellar reviews, we gave them a chance.

As a car shipping “newbie”, Sue Wheeler explained that she acted as a broker, let me know the ins and outs of the industry, and explained how they tried to weed out the “riff-raff” of the companies.

We were VERY pleased at the outcome, although we had to be proactive in contacting the driver to ensure the delivery schedule. Originally scheduled to pickup the car on Tuesday, I called the driver in the morning to determine the pickup time. He was held up on another pickup, and had to delay the pickup until Wednesday. Ultimately, the car was picked up on mid-afternoon on Wednesday. The driver promised to deliver the car in Albuquerque on Friday morning, and assured me that he would contact the receiving party on Thursday. He did not contact them until Friday morning, but the car was delivered as promised on Friday morning, without damage.

Overall, I would like more proactive communication from the driver, as it is difficult for private parties to coordinate our timing with pickup and drop off times. Everything from Wheeler Shipping was performed as promised.
