Stressful Situation

I hired Auto Transport Direct, who in turn, hired this company to ship my vehicle. I want to start out by saying that in the end everything turned out ok, but it did not need to be the stressful experience it was. Their customer service is terrible. When my vehicle was picked up in Florida on a Friday the driver told the dealership they would be dropping it off to me on Sunday (that Sunday). I called them that day and got in touch with someone that said they would call me 12-24 hours before getting there. I tried to call on sunday evening when I hadn't heard anything and all of the mailboxes were full on the cell phone numbers I was given. I finally was able to leave a message on monday but to this day my call has not been returned. I tried getting in touch with someone multiple times and no one would ever answer their phone. I eventually got Alex's number through Auto Transport Direct. He did answer when I called. I told him my information and he said the car would be delivered on Sunday. I had to remind him it was Wednesday and Sunday was long gone. Then he quickly said that it would be Friday. It was a complete guess because he didn't look up anything and he certainly did not contact the driver. I was finally able to get in contact with someone that called the driver on Thursday. It required me yelling on their answering machine before someone would pick up. The driver then called and said he would be there by 8AM on friday. The car was finally there at noon after a few more phone calls.

During this time there was not any bad weather or any other hindering conditions. I have no idea where my car was for all of those days. It would have been nice to have some communication and not have them unreachable or act like they were hiding information. Even if it had taken the same amount of time I would not have been as stressed about the situation. I don't know if they are incapable of estimating how much time it is going to take or what the problem is. I would have been happy to hear they needed to pick up another vehicle and would be dropping my on on XX day but there was never any communication to that effect.

When the car did arrive the only thing that was dirty was the window ledge on the front two doors. It was from greasy hands touching it and easy to clean. My car had 15 more miles on it than when it left the dealership. I would not use this company again. It did not have to be like this. This experience really ruined the excitement of getting a new car. In addition, I would never hire Auto Transport Direct again either. They have good customer service in they always answer their phone and are courteous but they were absolutely no help when I could not get in touch with this company. They had no way to contact them except by fax.
