I used Tropical Auto Carrier in the past to transport a car in 2014. I used them in March 2015, and it was a HORRIBLE experience this time. They booked the transport with AutoGrasshopper Transport, who was to pick up the car on a Monday, then when I called Thursday, I found out they had not even picked up the car, and did not pick it up until that Saturday. They never once called to update me, and Tropical Auto Carrier seemed to be out of the loop that the car had not even been picked up. To top it off, my undamaged Aston Martin showed up with a HOLE IN THE HOOD, damaged by the transporter!!!!The transporter put the car to far up on his lift when he raised the platform, and put a screw through my hood loading it on to the covered carrier. When I contacted Tropical Auto Carrier, I was informed I would have to file the claim with AutoGrasshopper, not Tropical Auto Carrier that I used to book the service. AutoGrasshopper, who said they would pay for the damage, is now trying to pay under the estimate the local certified Aston Martin body shop quoted, has screwed me around for three weeks, and I am now going through AutoGrasshopper's insurance to resolve this issue, hopefully, without involving my lawyer. Beware of who is responsible of damages, when you think you are going though Tropical Auto Carriers when it the car shows up damaged. I would NEVER use AutoGrasshopper again, even to transport a toy bicycle.
