Buyer Beware: Bait and Switch

Let me start by saying if it wasn't for the driver being so nice, this would have been a 1 star review! I purchased a truck that I needed transported from Mass to NJ. I had searched and received quotes from several transporting companies. After narrowing a few companies down and reviewing their feed back on here, I decided to choose Transport Masters LLC. I looked at their website and wanted to give my business to a veteran owned business who states they will provide hassle-free transport, boy was I wrong! They quoted me $400 for the transport while others were quoting $500 and over. I filled out the form and right before you sign, it stated that my price will never go past the $400 however, once you sign the documents, no where on the contract stated that. I received a call from PJ who help me answer questions such as, is there a cancellation fee? His response was no. We hung up and than I called him towards the end of the day to just ask what the turn around time was (i realized no turn around time was given) and he implied that I was "rushing" him. I kindly told him that I had bought the truck from a dealer and they wanted to know a time frame of when the truck will be picked up. We hung up and he called back about 30 mins later to tell me he had a driver but that now I had to pay and extra $100 on top of the quote. I asked why and that the website stated it would never pass over that amount. That's when he referenced the contract after you sign which by the way was 9 pages! I told him I would have went with another company if i knew they were going to "bait and switch" me like that. He then told me that I would lose my deposit of $150 if i cancelled which I told him I had asked that question earlier and he said, that's only if we cant find a driver! At this point, I felt that they were being dishonest. I told him to just book it as I was already aggravated with them and needed the car shipped me to me. I received a call from the dispatcher that the truck will be delivered the next day at 5, I said that's ok I will be home by than, he said no, 5am! Really 5 in the morning for a drop off? I said ok as I am usually up for work at 6:30. The truck didn't get here till 615am and the driver was nice and I respect anyone who has to work the graveyard shift, especially an OTR driver. Please due your do diligence when researching and don't get scammed as I did. Yes I call it a scam when you bait and switch prices especially if your company isn't upfront about it! I even told PJ that I would write this review and he said he would let his supervisor know, which I did not get a call back to see how my truck got there or about the experience!
