All vehicles are covered by the carrier’s liability and cargo insurance. This is the law. They are not covered by comprehensive insurance nor would anyone from our company say that they are. Each customer signs and returns a contract before their vehicle is transported and nowhere on this contract does it say that any vehicle is covered by comprehensive insurance. The note from the driver that this customer is referring to states that the carrier did not do the damages (the vehicle was in this condition upon pick up) therefore is obviously not responsible for them. Both the driver and customer signed this document. There is in fact inspections of the vehicles upon pick up and delivery and in the rare case there is damage to any vehicle the person at the receiving end simply notes this damage on the bill of lading. The driver signs off on it and Suncoast makes sure that all repairs and reimbursements are handled in a reasonable and timely manner. In this case, the damage was pre-existing and therefore is not covered.
