Before I used Stateway Auto Transport, I had signed up for a different carrier. The other carrier was 6 days late picking up my vehicle. I needed to get my car from Ohio to California asap and didn't have time to deal with the carrier's tardiness. I looked up other carriers online and found Stateway. I spoke to one of employees Ana and she guaranteed that my car will be picked up and at its designation on time. She explained to me how Stateway has its own trucks that transports vehicles - instead of hiring brokers like most carriers do. Ana was patient, generous, and most importantly honest with me. I decided to cancel my order with the other carrier and go with Stateway. Ana charged me the same amount the other carrier did, ($740) so I didn't lose money on the deal. The truck was a day late only because they had problems with one of their customers in Kentucky and the truck could not make it to Ohio that day. The next day, the truck driver came and picked up my car on Wednesday evening.

The only thing that I disliked about Stateway was how misinformed I was about how to pay. When they asked me for my credit card number, I thought I was paying the $740. In actuality, I was paying $90 to the company (I still don't know what the $90 is for). The driver asked me for the $740. I told him that I already paid it and he said that was for something different. I was going to write a check, then he told me they only accept cash or money order. Embarrassed, I had to run to the ATM and pulled out $500 (that was the most my ATM would let me pull out at once) and told him he would get the rest when he delivered the car. I was very upset that no one told me that I had to pay the driver on the spot, or how much I was going to pay for that matter.

In the end, my car was delivered on Saturday afternoon (I had to have the car there by Sunday night). I was impressed by how quickly the car was delivered and how kind the driver was with me accepting the $500. I would definitely use this carrier again and be more prepared for the payment. Also, if you plan on having items in the back seat, its an extra $50. The total amount I paid was $880, an amount that is worth for a company who gives great customer service.
