The transport of my 1979 Pontiac was successful. The transport was delayed by five days from the quoted pick up schedule. Area weather was the apparent cause for this delay. The rate was increased by an additional $50.00 following sign off of the shipping contract agreement. No explanation was given why the rate had to be increased?
I was disappointed with the communication provided by the driver of the truck. No confirmation of vehicle pick up and no scheduled date for delivery until < 9 hours from the time of delivery . Delivery of the vehicle had to be delayed since no preparations could be made for the delivery due to lack of information from the shipper. We were not informed that the driver would only accept cash as a form of payment. It was assumed that the credit card used for the deposit could be charged for the remainder of the shipping charges at the point of delivery. Instead, we were forced to write a personal check to the driver which was not the preferred method of payment.
The vehicle was not damaged during the transport.
