I got a lot of quotes from lots of companies. I called Robert at Southbeach because the price was very competitive and because he paid attention to what I was looking for - enclosed transportation for a nearly 60 year old Oldsmobile convertible. He explained how the industry works with the quotes and the carriers and the insurance and the payments etc. I didn't find anyone else that would take payment on delivery and his ended up being about the best quote.
The day before the pickup there was a 90% chance of rain at the pickup point so I asked to move by a day. Robert was very accomodative.

The driver, Vasi, was awesome. When he picked the car up from my brother and drove it to the top of the carrier the brakes failed and the emergency brake failed. He went backwards out of the truck with no brakes - could have come off the rails but he was cool as a cucumber. When the car came flying off the truck he had to do an immediate maneuver to aviod the 1947 Mercury he had just pulled off the truck. My brother had it all on video - the guy is like a stunt driver. The car couldn't be taken that way but the driver came back 2 days later and picked it up after repairs. He kept in touch with both of us as to his arrival in San Diego.

If you're looking to ship a vehicle I'd go right to Robert at Southbeach. I know you're not gonna get a better deal, service or the safety and comfort of knowing you pay on delivery.
