In all honesty, I was worried about shipping my car across the country (NJ to CA) because in reading many reviews from this site, I was worried about some of the horror stories customers had written about. After a lot of research (and quotes), I settled on Honesty First because they quoted me on the lower end (not the cheapest, however, because I had read, "You get what you pay for" and a difference of $100 for feeling confident I had chosen the right company was worth it) and they were well rated. I received a prompt reply after my application went through from an actual representative at Honesty First, who was able to answer any questions I had via email in a timely manner. After Honesty First received their $195 broker fee, Preston Motor Carriers was designated to carry my vehicle in an open container. He gave me a pickup date 1 day earlier than I had listed with Honesty, but my plans were flexible so I didn't mind. Mr. Preston was very nice and professional and estimated it would take 5-6 days to reach the west coast - and he was right - he had arrived with my car in 6 days. The pick up of my car on the other end (with a cashier's check for $800) was hassle-free. There was no damage to my car and I'm just thrilled it all worked out for a reasonable price of $995 in total. I would recommend Honesty First / Preston Motor Carriers to anyone in need of any car shipment, especially if it was a coast to coast trip.
