I've used Ship a Car Direct in the past. This review is for only Ship a Car Direct and not for the actual carrier that transported my car. David was very responsive and helpful in finding me a carrier. Within 15 minutes of posting my car, he had found a carrier. They would send me emails with updates on my car during the time it was being transported which was very helpful.
I would like to see a little more transparency regarding how the carrier actually gets assigned to me. As I understand it, the route gets posted and then carriers bid on getting the assignment. How do I as the customer know that I'm getting a quality carrier or even the one that has the most competitive price? My cost to transport ended up being $100 more than I was quoted by Ship A Car Direct. They do say that the quote is just an estimate. But once I submit for the car to be posted, I'm not even given the option of whether or not to accept the assigned carrier at whatever price it ends up being, I just get an email saying that I have a carrier and I need to pay them this much. How do I know that I've received the lowest price?.
