I checked online reviews of several auto transport companies and called three of the most highly rated. Ship-A-Car-Direct was one of them. I spoke to a person named Matt at Ship-A-Car-Direct. He was very knowledgeable and he put me at ease when explaining the process of shipping my car across country. Ship-A-Car-Direct doesn't own the trucks that carry your car, they are a broker that locates a carrier for you- and most, if not all of the auto transport companies out there are brokers. So you need a broker who deals with reliable carriers and can represent you if there's a problem with the carrier. Matt was my primary contact throughout the process and he was excellent. He responded quickly to my queries and sent me several emails before my car shipped. The emails covered things like... his progress in locating a carrier, what to expect when shipping, 24/7 contact information for his customer service dept., and a link to an app that I could use to take photos of my car before shipping. As the shipping date approached, Matt told me he had two carriers who could take it- one carrier could pick the car up a couple of days earlier than the other but he didn't think they were as reliable. Matt recommended waiting a couple of days and going with the more reliable carrier. I agreed and was very happy with the results. Overall, I think that's what you want when shipping your car - someone to look out for your best interests.
