My car was set to be picked up on time, but was not picked up until two days later than scheduled. I was told by the Ship a Car Direct that it would make it by August 2 (requested delivery date), so I just assumed that even though the pick up was late, the car would still arrive on time to North Carolina. Therefore, I waited at home all day August 2 waiting for the carrier (Your Auto Car Carrier, Inc) to drop my car off. Finally, around 6pm on 8/2, I called the transporter and he told me that my car would not arrive until 8/4 or 8/5 and that there was nothing that I could do about it so I might as well not complain. My car eventually came in on 8/4 at about 7:30pm. I emailed Ship a Car Direct after receiving my car to tell them about the frustrating experience I had had, and they gave me my $150 deposit back. I feel like Ship a Car Direct is a good broker company with excellent customer service, and I think that my poor experience with car shipping is due to the carrier, not the broker company. That being said, Ship a Car Direct did "vet" Your Auto Car Carrier, Inc as a "good" carrier, but after I informed them of my experience, they took them off their carrier list. Would I ship a car again? Probably not, it was a hassle, and my car got some scratches and was dirtier than I had ever seen it. But if I had to ship a car again, I would consider going with Ship a Car Direct simply because of their excellent customer service.
