Ship a car direct has plenty of sales pitches on their web site, and, by and large, they are accurate. My original quote wasn't increased, the company kept good communications with me, the dates were met, and I was assigned a good carrier. As promised, the brokerage fee wasn't charged until the carrier was picked and I confirmed acceptance. I was apprehensive of the whole experience of shipping my car from Midwest to CA, but it turned out to be pretty smooth.
