I was new to shipping a vehicle, and Emily at Ship A Car Direct was one of the first people I talked to. She also turned out to be the most willing to help, the most informative, and the most prompt in returning any of my messages.

I made the mistake of going with another carrier, after shopping around, because they had good reviews and quoted several hundred dollars below what Ship A Car Direct had quoted. I figured based on the company's ratings, it was definitely worth trying. I later found out low ball pricing is very common, and a complete waste of time in my case, because I live on the North Carolina coast, too far off the "beaten path" to give a carrier incentive to take a cheap fare to fill a truck. A helpful side note for anyone thinking of trying the low ball price, make sure you delivery is near a major city, and you are not in a rush. I was told the low ball price has a 10-20% chance of success, and requires that you happen to find a carrier heading your way with an empty spot on the truck.

The low ball offer led to me constantly asking my shipper to raise the price to get things going. 8 days later, my vehicle still had not moved. I finally gave the shipper a 24 hour ultimatum, and still didn't hear anything back. After days of frustration and lack of urgency on the part of my shipper, I called Ship A Car Direct and confirmed with Emily the price she felt was needed. I also confirmed the vehicle pick up should occur within 24 to 72 hours. I immediately signed up with Ship A Car Direct, and 20 minutes later I had confirmation a carrier was assigned. Three days later my car was picked up, as promised.

Throughout the process, Emily at Ship A Car Direct was extremely prompt and professional, as was the carrier who they assigned to carry my Mercedes cross country. I would highly recommend Ship A Car Direct to give accurate pricing, professional service and expedited shipping.

Thanks for the great recommendation and the helpful tips, Neil! Pricing is a great concern for so many car shippers, and an issue easily misunderstood. Most folks don't know that car shipping quotes are all estimates, and not guarantees, which can lead to wasted time and frustration. Great explanation!
