Overall the process was very easy, and Jason at Safe-Direct was very helpful and professional when it came to setting up my shipment. The service from Dollar Transport, the carrier, was less than ideal. The drivers and the dispatcher were pleasant enough to deal with, but it was fairly clear to me that my convenience during this whole process was secondary to theirs. The day before my car was due to be delivered I called Dollar Transport to verify that a cashiers check was suitable for payment, and they said yes. Less than 24 hrs later, the day my car was supposed to arrive, they called me and insisted on cash. No apologies for the inconvenience, just "well you can go back to the bank and get cash instead." And then there was the delivery, which was at 1AM. To be fair they did apologize about that. I had also picked out a nice parking lot for delivery that was convenient for them and close to my apartment. That apparently wasn't good enough, so I had to drive a couple miles and take delivery on the side of the road, because that's where they felt like dropping the car. But whatever, the drivers were nice and my car looked pretty good, at 1AM on the side of the road. Unfortunately when I was washing it the next day I noticed some minor cosmetic damage. Too late.

Even with all this complaining I was still satisfied enough with the result. I got my car, there was nothing seriously wrong with it, and it only took 7 days. I would definitely recommend to anyone shipping a car with any company, be flexible. And I would recommend Safe-Direct.

Thanks for your informative review, Brian! Sorry for the confusion around payment terms. And you are right that a carrier does have to put logistics ahead of convenience sometimes. For one example: they need a long flat area for loading, not all parking lots are suitable.
