I contacted Safe-Direct Car Shipping after noticing good reviews; Chris was very helpful in explaining how the process works to transport the two cars from TX to CA, including the moving cost estimate, identifying the transport firm (used Shipping Experts out of Sacramento, CA), providing the transport firm's insurance certificate and what I and the transport firm would expect from each other (bill of lading, method of payment, etc).

The actual cost was the estimated cost ($1,250 for two cars - $625 for the 2004 Benz and $675 for the 2005 Porsche Cayenne). (Note-this cost excludes the broker / finder's fee paid separately to Safe-Direct Car Shipping to identify the car transport firm who took this order). The transport firm's dispatcher provided the date when the cars would be picked up, and the dispatcher (Eugene) provided the driver's contact info (Alex) to firm up the time of day for pickup (stated a window of 2 to 8 pm, actual pickup time 9pm). Communication was adequate enough so I knew progress of where the cars / Alex were during the move from TX to CA. Actual delivery date was one day later due to minor mechanical issue w/ the transport rig. Alex had that issue resolved quickly and receiving the car a day later was not an issue for me. I learned there are a many moving variables in the scheduling of the pick-up and delivery of not only of my cars but also of other customers' cars being hauled on the same truck, so having a little flexibility and understanding on when cars are picked up and delivered goes a long way in feeling assured your the pick-up / delivery schedule is taken seriously.

I would certainly recommend Safe-Direct Car Shipping as a means to identify which qualified transport firms can assist in car moving from Point A to Point B, and the car transport firm, Shipping Experts, is an excellent firm to work with. I would certainly use both firms again.
