My experience with Safe Direct was decent, but not spectacular. It was stressful because I called two weeks before my shipping window, but did not have anybody agree to ship my car until I actually hit the window. This meant that I had to make back-up plans in the event nobody took my car. However, out of the blue, one day after my shipping window had opened, I received a call from a carrier saying he had agreed to pick up my car and would do so in three hours. While I was happy to have a carrier, it was an extremely quick turn-around time to prepare our car.

The truck driver himself was nice, and my car arrived in Arizona just four days later with no issues. All in all, everything worked out and at the price I was quoted, but it was certainly not a stress-free experience.

The final item worth noting was that I felt a little misled about Safe Direct and their referral rebate. Although I initially understood that I would receive a $30 rebate for writing a review, after the fact I learned that I would receive $30 only if I marked that my review was not compensated (which it is). On the other hand, if I was honest (as I am) in marking that my review is being compensated, than I only receive a $10 rebate. I found this approach, from a company formerly named "Honesty First Auto Transport", to be distasteful.
