Being the first time shipping a car, I decided to go with Safe Direct because they were a member of the BBB and had a very good rating with them. Jennifer, my contact person with Safe Direct, was very upfront and honest with how the process works, and responded back quickly to any questions I had. She set me up with Door to Door Express to transport my car to Texas. They picked my car up on a Wednesday evening and was told the car would be leaving for Texas the following Monday, Dec 12th. When my wife , who was waiting for the car in Texas, called on Friday Dec 16, and said there was no call yet from Door to Door, I called their dispatch and was told the truck never left on Monday because of mechanical problems, and that the car would arrive in Texas on Saurday night or Sunday. The driver called Late Saturday night and stated he was ready to deliver the car that night rather than waiting till morning. She had to meet the driver at 10:30 at night to get the car. The car arrived in good condition and the driver was friendly and professional. While I realize trucks have mechanical breakdowns, a simple coutesy call from the Door to Door Express dispatcher to let us know the car was going to be arriving late would have been nice. Also, receiving a car at 10:30 at night in a dark parking lot is not acceptable.
