Delivered, but Dishonest & Pricey

I contacted two companies for a quote - one was Secure Auto Shipping - they quoted $895. The other's quote was $795, and in addition - their reviews and BBB rating were better - so I decided to go with them. When speaking to James at Secure Auto, I told him I needed to discuss the quote with my husband before moving forward. He explained he would only see what carriers were available to take my shipment. This was dishonest & manipulative. Once a company posts your shipment on the boards, which is what he did, you're essentially committed to them - if more than one broker posts your shipment, it confuses the system. When I figured this out, I contacted James immediately and told him we had decided to go with another company. However, he left our order on the boards. As my pick-up window approached, the company I chose couldn't secure a carrier because Secure Auto had the shipment listed for a higher price. Secure Auto called me and told me they had a carrier and it would be $995. I contacted my chosen company and they said, at this point, I had to go with Secure Auto because they had my shipment listed for a higher price and the carriers will obviously choose the higher price. Though I ended up liking the carrier and my car was picked up and delivered on time without incident, given Secure Auto's poor practices, I will not use them again.
