Nice guy but in over his head

Initial low ball quote of $200 per car (I had 2 at same location) and said cars would be picked up 5 days after 1st contact. Alex called me the day after quoting job and said because I only wanted to spend $200 he was having trouble finding a driver for that price. I reminded Alex that he was the one who quoted that price but if he needed more money to ship I was OK if it was reasonable. He called me back and said he found Jamz Transport LLC who could pick up the cars within the time frame but the cost was going to be $500 to the carrier and $150 broker fee for both cars, I gave him my credit card and told him to proceed forward. What happened next was something that no screen writer in Hollywood could conjure up... OMG between Alex not staying in contact with the gentleman I bought the cars from and making excuses and finger pointing and the driver for Jamz Transport clearly being off his medication, the whole thing was a debacle beyond belief. I got so frustrated after well over a week and no cars moving that I called my local towing company to see if they would pick up the cars and bring them back (would have cost me over $1000 to have this done. When I called Alex to tell him to forget the deal he accused me and the knucklehead from Jamz Transport of being in cahoots and trying to "screw him (ALex) out of his fee" he said "I know whats going on, I'm not stupid, the cars are already being shipped and God would get me for this" WHAT??? now I think Alex is off his medication! I gave him one more chance to find a shipping company or refund my money, he couldn't. My towing company couldn't do it because they can only tow in MD, DC, & VA. I finally contacted Tropical Transport and was put in touch with AM Transport out of Richmond VA. Both the broker from Tropical and the driver from AM Transport stayed in constant contact with the seller and me. Both cars got delivered 3 days after initial contact for a total cost of $700.
Apparently the shipping business is quite a cut throat industry and I think Alex is still cutting his teeth so if you are not in a big hurry, maybe Alex can save you some money but I would not recommend him for time sensitive shipments.

The driver with Jamz Transport is a 3 car hauler made a special trip to Brooklyn payed over $100 dollars in tolls over the verrazano bridge special to take Brocks two classic cars . The seller Bato on the pick up side was not cooperating wtih Jamz Transport cause he told him to come back tomorrow and he will be available then meanwhile he was a ten minute walk from the lot location ..... I refunded Brock and he promised he would move on but posted a fabricated story beyond his imagination and this is not Hollywood ... We are an auto shipping service ALEX
