Falling down the transport rabbit hole

After purchasing an ADA mobility van 140 miles from where we lived we decided to locate an auto transport company to bring it to us. Never before have I so much as dipped a toe into the industry until a few days ago and I don't think I've ever been the same since. Between the bait and switch, hidden charges, carrier bids, and incredibly shady brokers clogging up my email and texts, my initial experience was not so good. My first broker was should have left the industry before he started in it. It wasn't until I spoke with Richard Kane from Safeeds Transport Inc. that my faith was restored and finally felt like it all was going to work out. I called and spoke with Richard telling him the importance of this vehicle getting to us, I openly told him how I was well aware of what went on behind the scenes and what the previous broker had done, I explained that he was my last hope. Richard sent over the contract which required no initial deposit and started working on finding a carrier that was willing to take the job in such a short notice. After talking one last time that same evening, I told him just do his best and we would talk the next morning. The very next morning Richard said he had found a carrier but that the carrier would do it at a higher price (S200 more than quoted), Richard then expressed how when we had spoken the day prior he could hear the urgency and importance of my situation and wanted to do everything he could to help me. I cannot begin to tell you what that meant to me. In a world full of uncertainty and shady characters, I had found an individual who actually cared. We agreed to pay the difference because at that point we were desperate and it really wasn't that much more and we had been anticipating that happening. Richard passed on the carriers information which I passed onto the dealer and waited. When the came and I hadn't heard anything I called the carrier - spoke with him directly, reassured me of everything, got to the dealer at time stated, followed their requirements, was in and out and on his way to our house. Loves Auto Transport arrived with our van just after 930pm with a smile on his face, upbeat attitude and took no time releasing the van to us. He thoroughly examined the vehicle upon arrival just as he did when he picked it up a few hours earlier, showed me the only area on the door handle that was in question, asked for a signature and if I had any questions and the shipment was complete. Because the broker (Richard) took no commission on this only asked for a kind review (which is absolutely deserved) and the carrier had accepted the job on short notice shifting his schedule slightly to accommodate our needs and quoted a price that was more than fair, we did pay the carrier what he quoted plus a nice tip ?? He was more than thankful and he was exceptional at what he did. If anyone wants to deal directly with a carrier - I have the guy for you! Thank you Richard Kane for being my saving grace and for turning my opinion around about your industry - that saying is true, may be the same industry but that doesn't mean everyone working in it are. A thousand thank you's and I highly recommend Safeeds Transportation Inc.
