A little history - I purchased a Jeep off Ebay and immediately posted a transportation request on "U-Ship". A week later, I also contacted "1Flat-Rate" who posted the transportation request on the National Board. After 3 weeks on the National Board (and posted on "U-Ship") basically no offers were received. As a result, I made airline reservations to fly back to NH and to drive the newly purchased Jeep back to CA. As a last ditch try, I canceled my transportation order with 1Flat-Rate and called Harold at Pricedrite Auto Transport as I had appreciated his honest emails regarding the process, cost, etc. Harold posted the transportation request on a Friday afternoon and low and behold, Monday morning I received a call from IK Transportation saying that they could pick the car up in an hour! The car was picked-up on time, and I canceled my airline reservations. Harold said that it would probably take 7 to 10 days and he was exactly right - it was transported to Truckee, CA in 8 days. The driver from IK Transport (Paul?) called when he was a day or so out, along with several more calls as he got closer. An hour before drop off, he called again to confirm, then called when he had arrived. Cannot say enough good things about IK Transportation and the driver. The car arrived in 100 percent perfect condition, but as expected, dirty - the driver had endured snow and road closures along the way. He even apologized for it being dirty! I could not have cared less - after all, the car would have gotten dirty sitting for 9 days in the driveway! The driver was extremely honest, polite and respectful, not to mention knowing exactly what he was doing. A wonderful experience all along the way.
I still don't understand how two different brokers can post basically the same request on the same National Board and one request goes 3 weeks without a reply (1Flat-Rate) and the other request (from Pricedrite) gets an IMMEDIATE hit from a fantastic transportation company, but that is what happened. Just goes to show that Harold at Pricedrite gets the job done! He was VERY helpful and explained the whole process, including suggested pricing. He wrote-up the order, sent it over for my review, posted it on the National Board and had it shipped all within two business days! Perhaps drivers know that Pricedrite is a good company to deal with and picks-up their requests? Whatever the reason, I know that next time I have transportation needs, I will call Harold first thing to get the job done!
