Decided to ship, rather than drive, my Boxster from New Jersey to Las Vegas. I'm a PCA (Porsche Club) member and participant in numerous Porsche online forums. I had just assumed I would contract with one of the shippers who advertise in the PCA magazine and/or sponsor the web sites, until I called and got their rates. Additionally, it was going to be 1-2 weeks before my car could even be picked up. Hesitantly, I checked out Transport Reviews, found some brokers with good reviews and got a few online quotes.
Orange had excellent rates for an enclosed truck but I wasn't sure, until after a phone conversation with with Travis. I had a bunch of questions and demands... I insisted on a truck with a liftgate (not a ramp), I wanted to know more about his shippers, I had questions about the specifics of the insurance. Instead of calling me a pain in the ass, he answered all my questions, reassured me that he only works with known, experienced, vetted shippers, and that going with an enclosed transporter automatically eliminates 95% of the inexperienced and unsafe drivers. I asked for a liftgate, he promised me a truck with a liftgate, without raising the quote or adding any fees.
Ultimately, after committing to Orange on a Friday, my car was picked up Monday in New Jersey and delivered Saturday morning in Las Vegas. MUCH faster than I expected and the shipper (Diesel Auto Express) did a fantastic job. I didn't have to rent a car for a week, in fact I didn't rent a car at all. The price was great and the entire job went smoothly and safely. Honestly, I could not have asked for any higher level of service
Like anyone else, I was nervous and anxious prior to shipping my car, but if I had to do it again, I would HIGHLY recommend Orange as the first call.
