Poor Service

This was a horrible experience from start to finish. I made my reservation over the phone with a promise from Devon that if I dropped the car off by Dec. 4th, the car would arrive in CA by Dec. 15th. I dropped my car off in Linden, NJ on Dec. 3rd and was then told that the car would arrive in CA no later than Dec. 21 (6 days later than Devon had originally promised.) The car arrived in CA on Dec. 27th (another 6 days later than I had been promised.) The car's sunroof was open and the inside of the car was filthy! This is not how I left the car- I definitely did not leave the sun roof open as it was 30 degrees in NJ the day I dropped the car off! I had personal property stolen from the inside of the car as well as the trunk. The car had been rifled through and an attempt was made to steal the radio. I know this because the radiio as well as the dash was damaged from what appears to have been a screwdriver or other metal object. I called multiple times before my car was delivered in an attempt to track the car and anticipate the arrival date. The customer service was extremely poor as I was put on hold for extraordinarily long periods of time and promised I would be called back and never received any calls back. When my car arrived and I was dissatisfied with the condition of the car upon arrival I filed a complaint and a claim for reimbursement for the damage to my radio and I was denied this claim. I have now filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and I hope that this terrible experience is not suffered by any other future consumers.

We offer enclosed services via the rail for discounted rates. Rail transport takes between 10-14 days. Our train was running late because of winter storms throughout midwest. This winter's storms have caused many delays nationwide to all types of transport and has even derailed one of our trains to Colorado. North American Auto Transport only transports and insures vehicles and inform customers that personal belongings are not to be in the vehicle during transit on the train. Personal effects in vehicle are eligible for searching. Cars may be searched at random and those containing personal items are usually searched thoroughly. All insurance claims are forwarded to the insurance company who decides if the damage is covered.
