This worked very well for us. Our daughter has older hand me down car station wagon (229,000 miles). It runs runs well but we did not trust it to make the drive between Dallas and Long Beach, California. She attended college last year in Dallas. This was a convenient and safe way to transport the car back and forth from Dallas. The pick-up was during her finals, and we needed a set pick up time for the transport.

It does cost $400 to have a specific pick-up date, so if you have flexibility you can really get a good deal. We tried to make arrangements to have her deliver the car at set time and location could not work that out, but the driver did accomodate her. Affirmative Auto Transport of Riverside handled the transporation. The driver was wonderful. While there was a taxi charge to get her back to campus, it was much more convenient to have a time certain than to wait for a pick-up.

She had a station wagon and we able to send home her television and personal items at no extra charge. (100lbs). All items arrived in the same condition that they were sent. She arrived by airplane. It was certainly worth the extra money for the safety. The car is still going strong and she drives it every day.

If she was returning next year (she is transferring to USC), we would not hesitate to use National again.
