Having shipped quite a few cars over the years, I dread every time I need to do this. I've had plenty of bad experiences in the past. Only after reading lots of reviews, I chose to use Mercury Auto Transport for my broker. I will say my contact Rob Seebeck was very consistent sending me daily emails after I requested a quote. The emails were pretty informational about how auto carriers choose which vehicles get picked up on a timely basis.
Due to the time of year and the location I was shipping to, I chose to have enclosed option posted to the board. After waiting patiently for a full week, I finally received a quote. Unfortunately it was for a carrier that had extremely low reviews, as they had only been in business for less than a year. They also wanted more money than the estimate I was given by Mercury brokerage. I declined that offer.
I then contacted Rob to ask that both an open and enclosed posting could be done to the boards. There is a much higher percentage of open carriers vs. enclosed carriers, so I was hoping to receive many more offers.
Well, another full week came and went, and I finally received another offer from a carrier. To my surprise, It was another enclosed carrier. I never did receive an offer from carrier for a open transport which sort of surprised me. I accepted the offer after checking out reviews of the carrier. This carrier was local to me, and I ended up paying around 9% more than Mercury's estimate. I was fine with that.
Carrier picked up the car the same day, and was delivery in perfect condition 3 days later.
Mercury and it's employee Rob Seebeck did a fine job finding a carrier to ship my vehicle to me. After posting to the boards, Rob would email me pretty much every day to let me know the status of my order. I would recommend using them.
