I was looking to move a 76 FJ40 from a location in AZ that was a bit off the beaten path. I received multiple quotes, but only Kat from Mercury actually answered my email when I asked a question. I went with Mercury for this reason, and also for the fact that they weren't the cheapest or most expensive of the quotes. After a few days I still hadn't heard if a transport had been found for the cruiser, so I contacted Kat. She recommended that we up the price a bit as no transport seemed interested in the job. Still no offers to pick up, so I called again, and I am pretty sure Kat was getting tired of hearing from me, but she always took the call and answered my questions and concerns. At this point, the seller needed to move and I needed to get the FJ40 out of his way. Kat called up her dispatchers, at which point they actually started calling auto transporters in person instead of just letting the quote sit in the system. Later that day they called and said they had located a transport and the order was under way. I apologize for not remembering others' names at Mercury, but I spoke with 3 other employees and they were as helpful and nice as Kat was. I know that without their extra effort, the FJ40 would not have been picked up in time. As it was, the cruiser was picked up 1 day early.

Which brings me to the auto transport company that picked up the vehicle - DHI Transport. Valerie was my contact by phone, and the driver was Dan. Valerie called the seller 2 days beforehand and gave an approximate time and the day it would be picked up. That day, she called and verified with the seller. As it was, the location was a bit tight for the trailer, but Dan was able to get to the location and did so without complaint. Dan showed up and loaded the cruiser and was on his way. Valerie called me the day before the cruiser was to arrive and then the day of the arrival. Due to my living in a somewhat rural location and no way for the transport to turn around or anywhere to unload on my property, we decided to meet a couple of miles away from my house in a parking lot. When I arrived, Dan was already there and in the process of unloading the FJ40. Although the cruiser should have been running, it was not. I was in a bit of a pickle as I had no way of getting the cruiser home at that moment, and no trailer to tow with. Dan actually stayed there with me and got the cruiser running. He also made sure it stayed running and hung around until I took off. I couldn't ask for better service, and if I had had the extra cash would have given him it. It's nice to know that both Kat/Mercury and Dan/DHI Transport actually care about what kind of service they deliver. If I ever had to move a vehicle again, I would use both without any qualms or concerns.
