I needed to transport an SUV from RI to California. I looked on Angies List for a recommendation and found Parker Transport w/ good reviews. Everything was surprisingly simple and efffcient. I submitted the basic data online; got a hard quote quickly ($1300). It was competitive with other quotes I got, much better than one of them. I thought things would be tricky, as I was leaving RI before the car was, but we arranged for Parker to pick it up at an auto garage. Very little paperwork was involved. Whenever I had a question, Joanne Parker got back to me promptly with the answer. When the driver got to California he was easily accessible by phone, and we quickly arranged a pickup spot near my condo (since he couldn't get his truck into our parking area). Car arrived in good shape, no problems.
Only one caveat: I wasn't aware it might take several days to get a driver that was going "my" route. So the car didn't leave RI as soon as I thought it would - I probably should have asked about this before I placed the order. I placed the order 8/23/12; and told Parker it would be available for pickup 8/29/12. It was picked up 9/6/12. It's not that Parker ever told me it would get picked up 8/29; they just didn't tell me it might take awhile to find a driver. Once I thought about it, this wasn't surprising - obviously, they would try to fill up a 9-car rig for that long a drive. (I clicked "on time" above, because I feel i am partly responsible for the lateness.) In the future, I would call the transport company sooner than I did, to give them more time to find a driver going my way, at the time I wanted it to go. I was so busy arranging other parts of the move, that I didn't attend to this earlier, which would have made sense.
Altogether, I would definitely use Parker again. Thank you Parker Transport.

B.S., Thank you for the great review. I apologize about the surprise. I try to be upfront about everything so there are no surprises nor firedrills at the 11th hour.
