As brokers we are contracted to facilatate the transport of vehicles
for consumers in the United States. We use a contract that states the
the requested move date. The contract is a page and a half long and
includes very clear information about a 4 day window before or after
the requested move date to assign a carrier to pick up the vehicle.
We cannot usually guarentee pick up dates due to the number of situations
that are out of our control such as weather and traffic. All of this
is very clear in the agreement. When it comes to the storage fees that
were incurred. When purchasing a vehicle from an auction they are very
clear on when the storage fees start occuring. When we booked the customer
we had a carrier assigned that day and provided him with the carrier
information. He knew the day in which the vehicle was going to be picked
up and was agreeable. When the carrier is dispatched and there information
is provided there isn't anything further we can do unless the customer
requests an update or specifically requests us to contact the carrier on
there behalf. The carrier we had assigned actually paid the storage fees
for the customer which were incurred. The customer acknowledged that he
should have had $25 in fees. We do as much as humanly possible to ensure
transport process is smooth. However, when things are clearly beyond our
control its difficult for us to change that. We have made alot of changes
to ensure that provide efficient service and are always working to enhance
the experience with our company.
