Having used a broker for many years with very poor to ok results, this year I decided to contact Intercity Lines to move my mom's car from NJ to Florida. In the past, the broker was very quick to put a deal together and take my money but when it came to the actual shipper, that was a whole different story. I have dealt with late pick ups, car used as transport vehicle because the trucker didn't want to take his rig across the George Washington bridge so took my mom's car and followed the car to be dropped and ran through the ez-pass lane and we received the ticket for no ez-pass. A driver who fell off the carrier portion of his rig as he had a heart condition and legally shouldn't have been driving but was. A company who went out of business while the car was in transit. Car has been damaged a couple of occasions i.e. had to have the roof panel replaced as they tried to go into/under a parking deck and the roof was pancaked when it made contact with the overhead obstruction. Good luck trying to get damages inflicted on the car paid by carrier's insurance company as it's a complete hassle and waste of time . You might say I have seen it all...

Although Intercity Lines was more expensive by approx. $400 dollars compared to the other broker/auto movers who commanded $900 - $1000 dollars each way (with little to no confidence the car was going to be delivered intact and undamaged) the extra money to have them transport the vehicle made sense and above all, gave peace of mind.

The office handled my inquiry with great efficiency and once completed, received a call from the driver Mike and his wife who were extremely professional, courteous, and understood what customer service meant. Mike stayed in touch as to his whereabouts and when he felt he could commit to a pick up time he let me know and this was very re-assuring. They arrived and picked up the car on time and treated it with the extra care you would expect from a 1st class shipper and they didn't disappoint.
The car was delivered quickly and again, Mike stayed in touch and gave me a heads up as to when he would be delivering the vehicle in Palm Beach Gardens. The hand off to my mom couldn't have been better and Mike and his wife made it very easy for my mom who is elderly. This is worth the extra money in my book...

I look to contact them for the return trip and for all of you who just look at the price, remember, you get what you pay for and in some cases, a lot more than you bargained for.
