The detail that Mr. Randolf left out is the fact that he has not provided any proof of damage. Repeatedly, we requested pre-shipment photos of the alleged damaged area, pre-shipment inspection report, as well as repair estimates - we have not received any of this. Without proof of damage caused by the transporter, we cannot proceed with the claims process. As the shipping agent, we provided Mr. Randolf all of the necessary information to file a damage claim. Yes, Mr. Randolf could have called any company to do this and the outcome would be the same. There are federal laws in place to protect transportation companies from customers who think they deserve free shipping and those same laws require specific processes to file a claim - it is not a scam - it is to protect us from scammers. If there truly is damage caused by a transporter, the burden of proof should not be difficult and one would be highly motivated to go through the proper channels to be compensated for the damage.
A note about negative reviews posted on all shipping companies... do not forget that you are only getting one side of the story. You are not reading the fact that the customer who reported their car stolen, refused to pay for their shipping because delivery was 1 day late of the ESTIMATED delivery date and the carrier legally gets to keep the car until the shipping fees are paid. Or the customer who thinks they can discount their shipping fees because the driver did not answer the phone when they wanted them to. This is transportation and you must educate yourself on the process before you undertake it.
