In this Industry there are NO guarantees due to weather, mechanical breakdowns, road closures etc.
It was explained to the client that I didn't have a driver available with just a one day notice. Being a licensed, bonded and insured broker as well as a carrier, I mentioned that I could contact my outside carriers to check on their availability, if he would like. Oliver agreed for me to contract his transport order with another carrier.
The driver was delayed due to a flat tire in the morning and a major traffic delay from an accident heading to the northeast. The client was notified and updated about this unfortunate delay which is out of the drivers control.
The vehicle was delivered safely without any damages, which is the most important factor.
I provided the credit card company a signed Bill of Lading, pictures of the vehicle, printed email conversations and the dispatch order. The credit card company agreed that services were rendering.
Sometimes in life there are delays in every form of travel methods available. This was explained to the client numerous times.
The driver has informed me he never said these things mentioned and he just wanted to get away from this unreasonable client.
I think the client said enough from his own review about his expectations. The mileage from VA-NJ is more than 350 miles. It's not a perfect world and there are things outside of one's control.
Best Regards
