We were in a hurry to find a transport company, and did not have time to do any research - just looked online and called a couple of places. Global Freight and Logistics has an amazingly impressive web site which gave us the impression that they were very experienced, honest and reputable. My husband had a long talk with "Ted" on the phone, and was convinced that he was legitimate. He was so convinced in fact, that he wired Ted $1500 to ship our son's car and contents from Florida to BC.
As soon as the money was wired, Ted quit returning calls, and when we had heard nothing after 5 days, we finally started looking into this company more. We found only 1 review online, and it was on this site, saying that the guy had sent money and his car was never picked up! Arrrgh! I hate learning lessons the hard way!
So the weekend that Ted said he would have the car picked up came and went, and we sent a deposit to another company, and THEN Ted called back as if nothing was wrong. We told him that we wanted our money back. He agreed on the phone to this, but now, almost one month later, he still has not returned our money and will not reply to emails or phone calls.
In the meantime, we have submitted a statement to the RCMP, and they told us that there is already an open investigation going on for this guy because several other people have complained of being scammed by him. Stay away from Global Freight and Logistics - "Ted" is a crook!
