In November of 2006, I hired Enclosed Vehicle Transport moved my 1968 Chevelle from Michigan to Florida. Like yourself, I read the reviews of many companies before making my final decision. After all, I've owned the car for over 18 years and spent many of those years wrenching on this car. The price was a bit higher than other movers I quoted, but I figured with the great reviews they earned, I don't mind the extra cost for good service and piece of mind. Communication was great for pickup and delivery of my vehicle. I was a bit surprised how many destinations were involved before my car reached Florida. In a week's time, my Chevelle was in the North, the East Coast and more states than I had ever driven it to. Since the car was already winterized before the move, I did not want the movers to start the car. At some of the stops along the way, my car was pushed out of the trailer and winched back in. This was fine by me, as long as the car made it down in one piece.
To make a long story short, the car made it down in one piece, but did suffer some paint damages. The header panel rubbed another vehicle during one of the legs of the trip, thus removing paint from my car in an area about 4 inches long. I was happy to get the car delivered, but did not expect damage at all. Upon further inspection, there were two other places where someone had rubbed against the car and put surface scratches in the paint. Luckily the scratches were minor and were rubbed out. As for the paint, I needed to find a shop that I could trust to do the job. I eventually found a shop and had the paint matched for about $500. Enclosed Vehicle Transport did pay for the damages, and there was no battle for compensation. There was, however, my personal time that was spent quoting repairs, dropping off my car, picking up my car, waiting for payment and communicating with Enclosed Vehicle Transport. Not to mention, I am new to Florida and did not know of any good body shops. It is now February 2007 and my car is finally back to normal. With other options out there, I would try another private owned company.
As a last note, this company did stand behind their service and paid for all damages. They have proven their trustworthiness.
