Unaware of the car transportation industry, I was apprehensive giving my 2 cars to a transporter (worth more than $125,000) when I wasn't sure who is actually transporting them since most deliveries, I now know, are sub-contracted to independent individuals or very small companies. I had many conversations with Mikela and Roy cross-checking their statements and doing on-line customer experience reports on Door-to-Door and still was uncertain of them and the industry in general. Also, the industry tends not notifying the car owner until a few days in advance as to the actual ship date, the transporter and their DOT registration number, and carrier insurance policy. I received all of the credentials a day before shipment and decided to switch on that day from a 5 car open carrier to a 2 car enclosed carrier. It cost more, but it was worth it. All this leads to the point, that I was extremely satisfied with the end results, and it only took 16 hours for the car to be picked up in Phila., PA and fully delivered to Daytona Beach, FL. The payment policy and acceptance procedures were excellent since I was not at the property to receive the cars nor make the final payment. Overall. it is a little nerve racking, but the end result was perfect execution when it really mattered.
