I used DAT b/c friend of mine recently did the same move and used them and had a great experience. Holly was very helpful, reassuring and even when she was not there, the other staff were super friendly and receptive. The whole concept of brokering was anxiety provoking b/c you don't know who and when the car will be picked up right up to the move date, but as promised by Holly, my car was oked by a carrier the day before my desired move and picked up on the exact day I had wanted. This saved me the trouble of being car-less or having to rent a car. The company that transported the car had courteous and professional people, who had excellent communication with me during every step of the move. The car arrived in the same condition as I had given it to them.I have another friend who was making a cross country move who used another broker and her car was still in its origin city nearly 2 weeks after she had left it there! Don't be sucked by companies that give you low ball quotes - the way it works is that a carrier will pick up cars first that offer enough to transport the car, so especially during peak moving seasons like July, a super low number is going to leave your car sitting in a lot like hers did. Holly warned me about this, gave me a very realistic and reasonable quote months in advance - I then cross checked it with a bunch of other brokers within a week of the move and she was spot on and got my car moved when I needed it. The whole car move went better than I could have expected and if I have to do it again I would definitely go with DAT again!!
