I picked Direct because they were the cheapest. But just like buying a piece of junk from China, you get what you pay for!

I booked my $725 shipment from Ohio to Nevada on Jully 29th with the pickup on or after August 3rd. I was given an estimate of 1-7 days. My credit card was charged the $150 deposit on July 31st. I still haven't received my deposit back and it's August 18th.

On August 9th, I called customer service and she said that they were unable to find a carrier that drove near the pickup location in Ohio. I asked if the trucks traveled on I80/I90 and she stated that it was one of the main highways used for transport. But, she said that most carriers do not want to drive 6 miles off of the highway to pick up one car. She asked me to drive the car to another city or location in order to have it picked up, otherwise just wait!

On the afternoon of August 13th, I called back and was told that Direct Express is just a broker and can't find a carrier. I was told that it could be a month and they can't commit to anything and I'd just have to wait. Over a 2 week period, no calls or emails from Direct Express. How's that for customer service!

So, I called 1Flat-Rate right after, which had the next lowest quote at $775. I spoke to Ray who was extremely helpful and said he could get it taken care of in a timely manner. I was told that Direct charges $150 for their service, while 1Flat-Rate only charges $100, so the carrier gets paid an extra $50 with 1Flat-Rate. 1Flat-Rate DID NOT charge a deposit and this means that they will stay on top of my shipment since they don't get paid until the car is delivered. So I cancelled Direct and rebooked with 1Flat-Rate.

On SUNDAY August 15th, Ray called me and said a truck had been booked. On Tuesday August 17th, the trucked picked up my car. On Wednesday August 18th, 1Flat-Rate called to give me status update on the shipment and the delivery is expected on or before Saturday August 20th.

So, who's better. 1Flat-Rate who has great reviews, who calls and emails with updates. 1Flat-Rate who actually picks up your car. Or Direct Express who has paid reviews, who gets paid up front, forgets about you, and doesn't care. It's a pretty clear decision.

This is not our customer. This is actually a small broker who just started in the business and barely has a functioning web site. He used the name Henry here but Vanden in his fake order. Sometimes competitors use this board to promote themselves.
