They don't know who is transporting your vehicle

I did my research, I looked on this site to see who was alright to hire. I know that Direct Auto transport is just a broker, they get $150 to hire someone to actually do the work. It seems that a company that has such a huge customer base would take the time to hire companies that do what they say. I am sure they just went with the first person to bid and then considered it a done deal. They assigned American Auto Transport, the driver Peter called and set up a pick up. He did so like he said, he quoted the shipment for 4-5 days because he had a co-driver. I told him if he got it there in the time frame I would flip him an extra $50. Not much, but still incentive. Then, the day he was supposed to deliver I called and he informed me that his co-driver quit, and that it would be one day late, ok I can deal with that. Then the day of the new delivery I called and he said that because of the snow he would be one more day behind, understandable. So the next day I called and he said he would be there later that night, so I had my girlfriend come to my house when he said he would be there, between 9-10pm. After 10 we had not heard from him so we tried to call and got no answer. I continued to call, while I was working, and finally got a hold of him. He said he was 31 miles outside of Vegas but there was a checkpoint that Semi's couldn't go through so he would have to go back and around. I told him I got out of work at 3am and he said that it would be perfect and I would just get the car then. So I was happy, until an hour later I got a text that said he wouldn't be able to deliver till 8am...we are talking 11 hours later then his last time estimate and over 80 hours later then the original time frame. So I went home and at 8am I called him, now he says he is 80 miles outside of Vegas, not sure how this works. He finally calls me at 9:45am, I tell him I will be right out, he had to park on the side street because I live in a condo community. I walk outside and next thing you know my car is cruising through my complex...I didn't want this guy driving around in my car. Then he parks it and asks for the remaining $700. I had to make him let me inspect the vehicle and make him give me a receipt. Pretty unprofessional. Like I said before, I know Direct is just a broker but you would think they would know who is good and who isn't with all the business they do. And as for the American Auto Transport, I can buy shit happens, but seriously there is no way that much happened in a week period, I could have driven Detroit to Vegas 5 times by myself in the time it took you. My recommendation is to go local and pay more, you will have piece of mind. Good luck if you wind up with either company.

This was actually fantastic service! We say over 90 percent of our vehicles ship in one to seven days. Customer Brett of Nevada had his car assigned to a driver the same day that he ordered his shipment. Wow! That is really good. Apparently Brett received his Chevy Blazer from Saint Clair Shores, Michigan approximately one week later, though a few days later than he hoped. If Brett goes to all this effort to complain about this kind of phenomenal service, can you imagine what he does when he has something to really complain about? We really wish Brett lots and lots of luck in the future.
