Poor Follow Through

I had a very poor experience with Dependable Auto Shippers. I had used them a few years back to transport a car from coast to coast and was satisfied with their service then, but this experience was exceptionally poor.

The original quoted price for moving the vehicle from terminal to terminal was approximately $1100. However, it was more than 7 days since the quote, and the price went up over $200 due to my delay and they did not honor the original quote.

I shipped from terminal to terminal in order to save money, transit time, and wear and tear on the vehicle. 2 1/2 weeks after dropping off the vehicle at the terminal in Virginia, the car had still not been placed on a truck. After inquiring a few times, the car was finally put on a truck. There was no communication from DAS about the reason for the delayed shipping.

I did not receive any prediction about when the car would be at it's final destination, but I did learn from their automated system that the car would stop at an intermediate location in the same area. This was also not previously communicated. I called and instructed DAS to keep the car at the intermediate location and they sent me the address and hours. The next day I received an automated email from DAS saying that my car was in transit.

We have not yet picked up the car, but due to the additional, unneeded transit, the pickup of the car became much more difficult.

I would recommend looking for another shipping company. The company appears to be very professional, but appearances can be deceiving.
