In navigating this Auto Transport maze, I realized that unlike Canada there are no interstate rail services in the US.
I contacted David at DIY and received a good quote. The plan was to fly out of NY after dropping the car off with the shipper. The problem was there were no drop off points. DIY didn’t have a solution so I decided to keep looking.
I contacted National Express and Carl, a manager, suggested a parking facility and said my car could be picked up in 3-5 days so I hired them. I left my car at the facility, emailed Carl and boarded my plane. That was the last time I heard from Carl. My car sat at the facility for over a week.
As God would have it I received a call from David at DIY who remembered me and noticed my car was still on a transport board. He said my car would not be transported due to the quote and it was not listed on other boards for truckers. I hired DIY to fix the mess.
Within 3 days DIY had a trucker lined up & within 2 days I had my car. A seamless transaction!
