BAD FIRST EXPERIENCE TRANSPORTING CAR

2011 Ford Explorer promised pick up 11/2 in Sanbornville, NH using Cavalier Auto Transport, 5 stars, to be delivered in Vero Beach, FL 11/6 for $800, $200 to Cavalier and $600 to driver. Maria Vecchio the contact. Flew to FL 11/5 leaving keys with neighbors. Driver assigned pick up at 6:00 p.m. Sat., 11/11, wanting $300 more, with delivery to be 11/15. (We went on bus trip Nov. 12 - 16.) Had check ready but no call came until we contacted Cavalier. Driver from Mikelson & Sons Transport of Port St. Lucie said he couldn't come until late Nov. 17. Waited for call at 6:30. He delivered car to turnoff at our condo. Pitch black so couldn't check for any damage. No papers to sign!! He claimed to have stored car since Monday which seems impossible.

Car was fine but not happy with service. No concern for customer's cost which included renting a car for 12 days instead of 2 at cost of over $400, dates or time. Worse was putting our neighbors through the pick up in the dark. We live in a small rural town and were promised "door to door" though I discussed taking vehicle to another public spot in a nearby city which would have been at least an hour's drive. Maria kept telling me all this was unusual as drivers had driven to Texas and FL to help with hurricanes and didn't want to make the usual snowbird runs. Cavalier did cut their fee from $200 to $50 but total with driver was still way over quote and promises meant nothing.

Jackie, thank you for your feedback. We always do our best to meet the needs of all of customers. In this industry everything is based off of availability. In your case your location for pick up proved to be an issue. We worked very hard to find a carrier in that area and after hundreds of calls we found nothing. We finally found a carrier who was not planning on going there but would for a bit more. Maria, then called you and gave you the option. You agreed and we discounted our deposit to help offset the cost. With the open carrier vehicles can get dirty just like if you are driving on the road. If you wanted the car to be protected we did offer the enclosed option. I have reached out to you to discuss this and figure what we can do to make things right but I have not heard back.
