Overall I was satisfied with Cascade Vehicle Shipping, and I would say they offer an above-average service. My major issue was that after receiving an initial quote of $1085, I was linked up with a carrier and told that they would only agree to ship the car if I would pay $40 extra. Now, I don't know if that $40 went to Cascade or to the car carrier, but to ask for an extra $40 on a transaction that is already worth $1085, especially after you already were given a quote of $1085, did not sit well with me. But, in my opinion, they know that you are in a situation where you don't want to deal with the hassle of finding a new broker/carrier and going through the whole process again, so you are more likely to just pay the $40 for convenience sake and get it over with. And for the most part I'm sure they're right. But it doesn't still well with me.

As for the customer service, I was very pleased. I would strongly recommend Cascade Vehicle Shipping to others shipping their vehicles. Sarah M. was assigned to me, and she followed up with me promptly with regards to finding a broker, making sure that the car was picked up at the origin location, and again after the car arrived (via phone and email). The transit time was also fairly quick, in my opinion, for a cross-country (California to Connecticut) trip, but since I was not given an ETA it is hard to say that it was "early" or "late" for arrival. I believe I was told it generally takes 7-10 days, which it did in my case, so I would say the service was "on time."

Finally, with regards to the car carrier service I was given (Exotic Car Carriers, Newark, NJ), I would say the service was average. The individual who picked my car up, and the one who dropped it off (different people) were both friendly and helpful. However, it was done extremely early in the morning (6:30 am pickup and 6:00 am drop off). I was given phone calls the day/night before to warn me though. At drop off, the individual actually asked me for a tip, which surprised me because I have shipped cars before and had never realized this was protocol. I tip AAA guys and such, but I don't associate the person dropping off my car as the one who was responsible for it throughout the trip, so tipping seemed sort of odd, but I gave him $20 because nothing was stolen out of the trunk. Again, I find people asking for tips to be extremely busch league, but I guess I'm not particularly surprised.

Overall, it was an above-average experience, but I would hesitate to call it excellent, although it was close. After the extra $40 and then the $20 tip, I felt a little bit like I was lured in at a $1085 quote that was supposed to be all-inclusive for the service. Had I been quoted $1145 initially and gotten the same service, I would have been fine with it, but I don't like to be given an all-inclusive quote and then have to pay more than the quote for any reason.
