Poor Choice of trucking company

I live in Vancouver, British Columbia and I bought a car from florida. The price I was quoted for transport to the US-Canadian border was among the lowest that I found. Pick up of car was on time but ETA was way off. I was told it would be delivered in 7 days.

The truck broke down for several days, which I understand happens, but I was not notified. I took time off from work to receive the car and I never heard from the trucking company, nor the shipping company on the day of delivery. I did eventually get ahold of the driver himself later that night. Delivery date was pushed back 6 days, but again I heard nothing on the delivery date. It took me three days of calling the driver, the shipping company, and the trucking company (who never answered their phone once or returned any calls after leaving messages) before I finally found out if I even had a car anymore. I was not comfortable with the situation at all.

I didn't mind the fact that the delivery was late. I would have been happy if they had told me originally that I'd be waiting 18 days. I'm more concerned about peace of mind. The trucking company's communication was almost non-existent and Cascade shipping did little to ease my worries. Cascade assured me that they would never use this trucking company again. The trucking company was STO Transport out of Gig Harbor, WA for anyone who may be considering them.

I would be reluctant to use Cascade again unless their price was less than any competitors and then only if they assured me that they would use a trustworthy and proven carrier company.
