Tom was knowledgeable and felt that the price was right but wasn't sure why no carriers were picking up this order. After waiting 13 days for a pick-up I increased the price from $830 to $900 and we got a carrier confirmed within a few hours. Had I know that we needed to increase the price I would have done it sooner but Tom did not recommend it.
The Carrier driver spoke very little english but did call and communicate by mobile phone a pick up time and day and was on time. We waited 7 days and did not receive any communication from the Carrier and he did not answer his cell phone. We called the Shipper but no answer either. A few days later we called the Carrier, Wonderful Trucking Co of Baldwin Park, CA. They confirmed the vehicle was at their facility over the weekend, labor day weekend. We were not told we would not receive delivery of the car due to the labor day weekend. This contract was supposed to be door-to-door but they took the vehicle back to their facility in Baldwin Park instead of calling us to receive delivery in Newport Beach. CA. When we said we have been waiting and needed the car they acted like they were doing us a favor by bringing it to us on Tuesday night after the labor day weekend and after the car had been sitting in their facility for 3 days already.
A man and woman delivered the vehicle to our home in a single car trailer on Tuesday evening late, it was not the same person who picked up the vehicle in Maryland. After we inspected the vehicle which was super dirty from the open carrier and it was dark, we signed off the paperwork and gave him the $900 cash. He counted it and said quite bluntly "no tip"? We said we didn't know we were supposed to tip as we have done this before. He flew off the handle at us because he drove the car all the way to newport from baldwin park that night to deliver the car to us. His reaction was uncalled for a few reasons: 1, this was to be door to door delivery; 2, they held the car for 3 days before they delivered it; 3, they didn't call us when the car arrived, we had to call them; 4, his reaction alone didn't warrant a tip. He stormed off and drove away and then he came back and parked at the end of the street which made us very uncomfortable and ready to call the police. We didn't know if he was going to come back and take the car or key it or what. He was crazy. I have no complaints about the carrier's driver but the other guy who delivered the vehicle is crazy and scary and should not have reacted that way by trying to intimidate us. Do not use Wonderfull Trucking Company for a carrier. After we washed the vehicle we noticed a paint chip by the drivers door handle and the car was spotless prior to pick up and it was a brand new vehicle only purchased 1 month prior. Too late to do anything about it.
